[edit] San Diego 4 Wheelers' Annual Superstition Mountain Run
Every year the San Diego 4 Wheelers put on an annual event to raise funds in an effort to keep off road trails open. The event started in 1999 and has hosted up to 250 vehicles on runs led by SD4W members. The two day event is held in mid January. Trails are rated from mild to wild, offering something for everyone.
The San Diego 4 Wheelers laid out all the named trails in the area. In 2009, The Black Cat trail and the SD4Wers were awarded the BF Goodrich Outstanding Trails award for working with local government agencies to promote conservation and the principals of "Tread Lightly."
[edit] Directions
From County Highway S80, take Huff Road north to Wheeler Road. Follow Wheeler Road to one of several popular primitive camping areas, or to the base of the Superstition Mountains.
