State Line Trail
The State Line trail is located on the Virginia/West Virginia state line and is accessed from Route 55. Other names for this trail are "County Line" and "Tuscarora."
Directions
The trail entrance is about half way between Front Royal, VA and Moorefield, WV. From I-81 at Strasburg, VA go West on Rt. 55 to the WV line at the top of the mountain. Trail entrance is on the left. If you are coming from Moorefield it will be at the top of the mountain on the right. A rather weathered wooded sign will indicate "Tuscorora Trail" if it is still there.
This trail starts out mild but gets pretty challenging. To go the whole 20 miles (distance confirmation/correction needed) you should be prepared for 30 degree off camber setions, steep inclines, and rock crawling.
