Pinnacles Staging Area

The Pinnacles Staging Area is located off of Highway 173 near Lake Arrowhead, CA in the San Bernardino National Forest.

From Pinnacles, you can travel east along the Willow Creek Trail (3N34) or head west across the highway towards Pilot Rock Truck Trail (2N33). There are aslo several motorcycle and ATV trails in the area, including 3N06Y, 3W11, 3W12 and 3W13.

Directions

Take Hwy 173 pass the hospital to North Bay Rd., and make a left turn. Go up to Matterhon Rd., and make a right turn. Follow to the end, and make a right turn on Grass Valley Rd. Go through Deer Lodge Park back to Hwy 173, and make a left turn. The Pinnacles are just beyond the rifle range on the right hand side. There are signs once you get back onto Hwy. 173. Another way is the back way coming from the high Desert. From the 15 go east on the 138 towards Lake Silverwood. About 2 miles from the lake you will come to the intersection of the 138 and the 173. Take the 173 east for a few miles you come to another intersection which is Lake Arrowhead road and the 173. Continue east on the 173 after another mile or so it will turn into a dirt road which is smooth enough for passenger cars to travel. You will travel on this part of the highway for about 15 miles or so then it turns back into paved 2 lane road. Pinnacles will be on your left a mile or so ahead
