Jean dry lake bed is located @ 15 miles south of Las Vegas. It is a popular place for OHV use and model rocketry clubs. Dry camping is permissible and free anywhere as long as it doesn't impede traffic. Spark arrestors are mandatory and enforced by BLM. Fires are permitted as long as restrictions are not in place. They must be contained in a barrel or portable fire pit. Always pack out your ashes. There are trails to the east, that lead into the mountains, and to the south toward the town of Jean.
