This Gulch is fairly straight and pretty steep for a good portion of it. It goes by the remnants of a fairly large mining operation, so get out and explore. Remember that this is privately owned mining land, so leave things as you found them and respect private property.
This is a good trail to shortcut the end of Yankee Hill. You can go due south rather than continuing west. It cuts out a lot of Fall River Road. You can see the entrance two switchbacks past the house with the elaborate gates. It is marked 271.1 with a brown sign right on Fall River Road.
This is a fairly mellow trail and would be perfect for a stock 4x4 or the SUV that doesn't see offroad very often (if at all). Though it is steep there are no shelf roads to worry about. It is not a dangerous trail though you should never go wheeling alone.
It has some beautiful views, especially of the mine.
